With Chanukah in full swing and Christmas just a few days away, in lieu of our weekly live picks we wanted to take this opportunity to wish you, our dear readers, the very happiest of holidays. We’d also like to thank every one of you for your support during these, our first 11 months of existence. We started Barryfest with a very simple goal – to document the diverse music of New Orleans and beyond – and with every like, share, comment, email, retweet and mention, you have all helped us along the way.
We’re gonna take a few days off for holiday travel and/or merriment, but we’ll be back next week to end the year with a bang, unleashing some special features we’ve had on the shelf, finishing a few half-written columns that’ve been laying around, adding some requisite (and not-so-requisite) year-end lists to the blogosphere, and offering a guide to New Orleans’ crowded field of New Year’s Eve concert offerings. We’re also working on giving the site another facelift and planning something special to commemorate our one-year anniversary… more on that in 2012. In the meantime, stay safe and keep being awesome.
