Felix is performing at The Saint on Feburary 14, 2011

02.10: Designer Drugs – Republic

02.11: Big Rock Candy Mountain + Big History + Red River – Saturn Bar

02.12: Happy Talk Band + Other Planets – Dragon’s Den

02.13: Intimate Stranger + Lovey Dovies + Caddywhompus – Siberia

02.14: Felix + Jean Eric + Young Big Dogs + DJ James Price – The Saint

On the heels of their incredible show with Magnolia Shorty at The Saint in November, the members of Felix understandably rushed to book an encore performance. What went down that night was nothing short of pure musical bliss: Felix thrashed through a bluesy set of raunchy lyrics, unhinged percussion and keyboard alchemy before Magnolia Shorty – an originator of New Orleans bounce music as well as an ambassador for its recent surge in popularity – tore whatever was left of the crowded Lower Garden District dive to the ground.

Tragically, the crowd at the Saint that evening saw one of the last shows Magnolia Shorty would perform in New Orleans before her December murder. Monday was originally scheduled to be the sequel to one of the most epic nights of 2010. Instead, the “Uptown in LOVE” Valentine’s Day bash at The Saint will be dedicated to the memory of Magnolia Shorty, and you can be sure Felix will bring the wood. Brilliantly over-the-top proto-crunk outfit Jean Eric and up and coming rappers The Young Big Dogs round out the bill.

02.15: Broken Social Scene – Tipitina’s

02.16: My Graveyard Jaw + The Wheels of If – AllWays Lounge
